Performance Through Song

Song is one of the most demanding performance disciplines — it asks you to act truthfully while meeting technical vocal requirements simultaneously. This workshop breaks that challenge down, guiding performers through how to unlock a song's emotional landscape, build authentic character, and deliver a performance that is both technically sound and genuinely felt.
A key part of this process is lyric analysis — learning to read a song's text the way an actor reads a script, excavating subtext, intention, and emotional truth to find the character's authentic voice from within the words themselves. |
Character Development

Using the proven frameworks of Stanislavski and Meisner Technique, these workshops take performers through character development from the inside out — drawing on emotional memory, personal experience, and imaginative truth to build roles that are fully inhabited rather than merely played. As well as building the character’s story based on the information in their own text and through what others say about them.
While these techniques are equally transformative when applied to song, this workshop focuses on the spoken word and text-based performance. Trudi's approach draws on decades of study, practice, and professional performance, applying these industry-established methods in a way that is deeply informed by her own experience as a working actor and singer.
